Jephcotts Restoration Project

Before ~ This dam is part of the Jephcott's Restoration Project.
10,000 trees were planted around the dam following its construction.

After ~ Now the site is a haven for wildlife

Before ~ 12 years ago this gully was full of lantana, rocks, and a giant stinging tree.

After ~ Now it is a beautiful mossy rainforest pocket.

After ~ Now it is a dense diverse emerging rainforest.

After ~ Firewheel owner Mark Dunphy showing a group of TAFE students the Jephcotts rainforest restoration project, where he and others have been planting and regenerating native forests for half a lifetime. Jephcotts' demonstrates that with time and care, we CAN heal degraded land.

After ~ Things are looking up at Jephcotts, where damaged farmland has been restored into healthy native rainforest. In a few years this will be a full canopy, and a home for native wildlife.
